About Our Residential Services

Alternatives’ residential services include eight group homes in Connecticut. Each house is equipped with modern amenities to create a safe and comfortable environment. Our Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) offer 24/7 nursing care including the oversight of an experienced RN ICF Supervisor and a Health Specialist. Direct support professionals give 24-hour care at the CLAs and CRS along with an on-call RN for any medical needs. The LPNs in our ICFs provide various treatments, pass medications, and take vital signs. Well-trained med-certified direct support professionals are available in our other programs.

We work closely with case managers, guardians, and/or family members to ensure all individuals’ needs are met. Relationships with families, guardians, and friends are supported and we encourage visits and outings together. All employees are trained to drive company vehicles (wheelchair-accessible mini and high-top vans) to transport individuals to outings, appointments, and work. Our direct support professionals accompany individuals to their appointments and serve as their advocates with medical professionals. They help support all individuals' needs including charting of life course, daily living skills, goals, and overall well-being.
